Wakey Wakey...

subway

A brilliant photograph taken on the train during Halloween

By Cory Bergen

Info: Nylon magazine

Fancy a new job?

Well looks like these designers do...

Rodart - Craftsman

Wood is commonly known as a heavy household material that gives splinters when handled. However, Rodart uses the wood like pattern in a completely different way...they use it for beautiful draped silky clothes. This creates an unusual but clever, aesthetically pleasing design.

Lanvin - Pest removal

Looks like Lanvin needs to remove some pest from these horses...

Lanvin has designed dresses that are accessorized with a leather belt inspired by horses bridle. This gives the flowly dresses, structure balancing the drapes.

The insect jewellery I personally find a bit creepy. I don't understand who would wear it? Most of the time when you see an insect or pest you run away from it or even run away screaming if you are like me. Why all off the sudden like them? To try and overcome your fear? Or because it was shown a few weeks ago as a fashion must have on the show Ugly Betty? Either way I still HATE creepy crawlies!

Get the Chanel look

At lasted there are copies of the wonderful Chanel clogs that I have preview posted about (Chanel Classify Clogs Classy!)that everyone more likely to be able to afford. Unforgettably what inspired me to write this post was actually these Mango clogs I saw in a store and loved, but there was not a picture on the web I could get and only later did I decide to write this post anyway sorry. They are really cute, quite high, beige with a thick wooden heel however, they're £85 so I thought I should research other clogs on the market before deciding to buy them.

There are over 15 different stunning styles that twobirds demonstrates such as, boob tub, one shoulder off and the traditional maxi dress look (see picture below). Available in different lengths to suit all body shape and 18 gorgeous colours starting at £200-£220. So do the maths…that is that is £13.33-£14.67 pre a style. I have been watching Gok's fashion fixed and I was really inspired by his ethnic look shown on last weeks episode so I create my own with all well known big high street brands.

Snake HELP?!

Where ever I turn or look I keep on seeing snake inspired clothes however, can't seem to get enough of them. The alien like patterns, the bight juicy colours and Egyptian feel creates a reptile feeling waiting to unleash inside of me. See the best below:

-----------------------------------------
This picture comes from Vogue Germany February. Even though this has nothing to do with what I wrote before I had to show you this as I can not get over how cool the picture was. But maybe I could say it relate it as the jacket has a sort or snake texture. Anyway, the jacket is like a cross between a military jacket and ripped leather jacket making the combo look edgy and modern. LOVE IT!

In memory of Alexander McQueen 1960 – 2010

Words can not describe his creative impacted on the fashion world. He always came out with something new and different. Just when you think he could not have thought of something new and better he always surprised us. The fashion industry was so lucky to have such a talented, unique designer.

My favourite McQueen moment:

Autumn / Winter 06
Kate Moss appears as a giant hologram above the catwalk, GHOSTLY!

Spray paints - McQueen get models down and dirty!

Fall 06 Studded, edgy, gothic ...est...dress!

And who can forget his gigantic Monster Inc like shoes?

Are you a WARRIOR?

Every piece in Jean Paul Gaultier collection had been complexly weaved or structured to create a rough warrior look. However, at the same time the neutral colours used on each garment mixed with the weave technique and the paper shape leaves brings a more natural or pure element to the harsh exterior of the warrior style. Creating this unusual but inspiring, edgy and calm appearance.

Designer Inspiration:
As soon as I saw Jean Paul Gaultier collection I immediately thought of Rodort. As one of the dresses they produced are similar to Jean Paul Gaultier design as they are both are shaped the same way; weaved with strings hanging loose at the bottom making both of the models look like they go on forever!
But as one can easily tell Jean Paul Gaultier is a much neater version of Rodort design.

Seeing double

I was really depressed to find out yesterday that Kahlen Rondot is not the spoke person for max factor but instead it is Carmen Kass (the famous super model). I thought she was doing really well for herself but I suppose not. The scary thing is they both look like they been separated in birth just like the movie parent trap I watched for like my thousand time last Sunday.

What??????
The furry boots Ugg has found it way to all are feet and now all the way to Jimmy Choo. The two will collaborate on a limited edition collection based on the construction of Ugg's sheepskin boots and the sexy embellished Jimmy Choo. The line will range from $595 - $795. Women Wear Daily (WWD) report this disturbing statement: Tamara Mellon (the president and founder of Jimmy Choo), said that alongside her own label Ugg Australia is the only other footwear she owns!

The only other question is what will this strange collaboration end up look like?

Below I have constructed possible looks for their collects…

We have been exposed...

...I am almost blushing! The latest trend designers have decided to take upon them is to literally strip back the complicated and extravagant catwalk trends we all loved last year and go straight back to basics. Instead of all the complicated embellishments and the exaggerated accessories, the designers have focuses on quality and structure to give each item a feeling of cleanness. The fresh, clean feel to the clothes and accessories make them seem like they have been taken out of a fairytale. The see though, exposed Prada heel (in the picture below) reminds me of the sorts of slippers I use to wear, pretend to be Cinderella with her startling glass slippers. One last thing, this new trend means you no longer have to worry if your e.g. top is see through as you would be totally in fashion!

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Walt Disney Pictures and director Tim Burton presents a magical and creative twisted on the all time favourite tale Alice in Wonderland. A 19-year-old Alice returns to her whimsical world with no memory of her childhood adventures. She is now reunited with her old friends: the White Queen (Anne Hathaway, 27), Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Matt Lucas, 35) and of course, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp, 46).

Trailer:

Tom Binns has teamed up with Disney to produce a jewellery line inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Although he is not well known after this movie he sure will be! His gorgeous 35 piece collection will cost between $100 - $2000. Other designers are also coming out with themed Alice in Wonder Land clothes later this year, such as: Kenzo's Antonio Marras, Stella McCartney, Urban Decay, OPI, Donatella Versace, Uniforms for the Dedicated and Jason Wu.
