Keeping it clean..

Bergdorf Goodman Resort 2012
I love the contrast between the free flowing angel white dress with the man-made industrial background. Bergdorf Goodman stresses the beauty of nature.

I also LOVE these shoes £120 from Urban Outfitter. Can't image how you wear these though I think my foot would just snap in half. It a shame, as when your foot is in the shoe no one will notice how cool they are!

Atelier Versace Fall 2011 Collection

Atelier is one of Versace brands that creates breathtaking and unique red carpet and evening wear garments. These garments are highly embellished with intricate handmade appliqué. This adds a traditional and all time classic appearance to their garments.  Celebrates like Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman and Kelly Rowland have all be found wearing them.

This season Atelier Versace collection has been highly inspired by Japanese traditional clothing. This adds an oriental flare to the designs giving character and a magical quality to the overall collection.

Opposites Attract - John Rocha Summer 2012

John Rocha summer collection is all about the contrast between solid and transparent, thin and thick fabric. This usual mixture of materials creates a truly unique and exciting collection. He also uses crochets, this technique usually consider old fashion and granny like however he incorporates crochet in a stylish modern and even fashionable way.

Ziad Ghanem LFW SS12

I got tickets to Ziad Ghannem show and I did not know what to expect as he is famously known for his odd yet truly original shows. I have to say that his outfits were not the most inspirational and tailored made clothes, however he knows how to put on an entertaining show. Even as we waited for the light to dim and the models to come out the audients were kept interested. All the photographers are usually squashed up at the end of the catwalk one of the photographers at the top was drank and managed to full on everyone else knocking down all the equipment and had to be equated out by security lol.

However, back to the actually show… I love how Ziad Ghannem used models in a multitude of shape and sizes matching their personalities to the designs. Each model also had a unique walk and pose. The models acted as actors to portray a certain character rather than just a hanger for the garments. Furthermore, Ziad Ghannem styled the models with dramatic face paint, tattoos and props creating an almost pantomime atmosphere.

My favourite part of the show was his painted outfits that looks like it hit an explosion of colours creating amazing patterns and textures.

The natives are taking over...

Native trend has taken over the world from every fashion magazine worth reading to every decent high street shop your'll find bold colours, animal inspired patterns, bushy hair and even jewellery longer then your clothes! This trend is all multicultural mixing the best of all the different tribes for Native Americans to Africans and Indians.

Feel free to incorporate your own style into it to create a completely unique (just a nice way to say weird) look. Weird can still be cool thought, maybe...

Don't worry there just as cool natives clothe in the high street here some of my fav interpretations of the look...

Givenchy Fall 2011

Sorry I have not posted in a while. I have been camping so I had no internet access.  Anyway here it goes...I love Givenchy new collection. The clothes look like a juxtaposition of a sexy maid meets a traditional Japanese kimono. Giving Givenchy usually sophicated gothic collection an ethnic flare.

Play Time...

Fancy dressing up?
But think you are to old?
Well, not any more... Cristain Dior (couture collection) Autumn/Winter 2011-12 is inspired by your playful childhood costumes. Many of the outfits reassemble clown or bird like costumes. This was the first collection in 50 years that was not over seen by Galliano. Gaytten took on this roles instead, giving creditability back into Dior name.

Influencing fashion even to this day: Madame Grès

Exhibition: Bourdelle Museum in Paris till August 28, 2011

Madam Gres (1903-1993) originally wanted be a sculptor she found working with fabric was similar to stone. Her unique experience with stone and sculptures help her to create the first EVER draped dress; designed in 1934. Throughout the exhibition Madam Gres clothes are displayed in between sculptures which immediately show the similarities in the drapes of the sculpture stone and the dresses fabric.

1965 Cocktail dress - Viscose Jersey

Fall/Winter 1952-1953
Evening gown - Viscose Jersey

Spring/Summer 1946
Day dress - Wool jersey

It so surprising when you think these dresses was made so long ago…they’re just old museum artefacts yet some could easily be worn today! The drapes give such movement and life to them and the brilliance of some of the colour (especially the orange dress) could walk straight out the museum and on to the red carpet.

Please click to enlarge the photos, the details of these dresses are amazing you DON'T want to miss out!

GFW Nottingham Trent

I have to say that I was not that impressed with the fashion design students I felt I saw it all before, nothing original but the fashion knitwear students were outstanding! The knitwear is bright with an ethic look to it. Ethic seams to be a standard trend these days but I have never seen this trend interacted to knitwear. Therefore, giving the clothes great originality. I also loved Sally Chown necklaces inspired by organic sea like plants growing out of control. Watch out for these designer they are the future!
